NZ productions have scored seven finalists spots for the New York Festivals World’s Best TV & Films awards, which will be presented in April.
Zoomslide has two nominations, for Te Mana o te Moana – The Pacific Voyagers in the Climate Change & Sustainability category and Real Pasifik in the Culinary Programme category.
South Pacific Pictures scores the sole drama nomination, for Westside.
Other factual nominees are Imagination Television’s Rachel Hunter’s Tour of Beauty, which recently sold into the US and Latin America; Monsoon Pictures International’s Paddle for the North; Pacific Screen’s Gloriavale; and Razor Films’ Predict My Future.
Producers Alexander Behse, Simon Bennett and Donna Malane are among the 100+ grand jury members for the awards.
NHNZ’s Australian sister company Northern Pictures picks up a nod for Life on the Reef, while Singapore sister Beach House Pictures has three nominations, two for Wild City and one for China From Above.
Expat Sarah Macdonald’s UK and Singapore-based MAKE Productions has four nominations, two for Boat People – Journey to Hell and one each for Ebola Diary and Undercover Asia – Cambodia’s Sexual Predators.
The New York Festivals World’s Best TV & Films awards are presented 20 April (NZ time) in Las Vegas, alongside the NAB show.
