Academy members not feeling Horny

The list of live action short advancing to the next stage of voting for 2015’s Oscars has been announced, with Joe Lonie’s Show Me Shorts-qualified Honk If You’re Horny not making the cut.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced Friday NZ time that 10 live action short films have advanced. Lonie’s Honk If You’re Horny was one of 141 shorts qualified for consideration in the live action category.

Oscar nominees will be announced Friday 16 January, with the ceremony to be held on Monday 23 February (all times NZ).

The 10 films that will advance are listed below in alphabetical order by title:

  • Baghdad Messi, Sahim Omar Kalifa, director, and Kobe Van Steenberghe, producer (a team productions)

  • My Father’s Truck, Maurício Osaki, director (Lupi Filmes)
  • Parvaneh, Talkhon Hamzavi, director, and Stefan Eichenberger, producer (Zurich University of Arts)

  • SLR, Stephen Fingleton, director, and Matthew James Wilkinson, producer (Stigma Films)
