Adrenalin-fuelled fest rolls out programme

Almost 80 titles will screen in this year’s Mountain Film Festival, which kicks off in Wanaka at the end of the month.

Greenland-set Into Twin Galaxies takes the festival’s Grand Prize and will have its NZ premiere screeninga tht festival. Simon Waterhouse’s Waiau-toa Odyssey, chronicling a six-day, 300km journey along whitewater rivers and backcountry tracks through some of New Zealand’s hidden wilderness areas, wins the Best NZ Film award.

Simon Tucker’s Four Mums in a Boat (pictured, top) takes the Special Jury Award for the ‘what on earth were they thinking?’ story of four middle-aged women from Yorkshire who decided to attempt to break the world record by becoming the oldest people to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic.
