After the 48Hours madness, the madness

The V48Hours Furious Filmmaking Competition, to give it its full name, is over bar the fun bits. Judges are wading through some 700 completed films ahead of the city finals which kick off a week on Saturday.

Organiser Ant Timpson is multi-tasking during the run-in, with The ABCs of Death going into its “final final grade” in a couple of days. ABC is expected to open later this year, although no confirmed date is set as yet.

The city finals run in Auckland (Sat 2 Jun, SkyCity, 8pm), Dunedin Sat 9 Jun (College Auditorium, 7.30pm), Christchurch Sun 10 Jun (Reading Cinemas, The Palms, 7.30pm), Wellington (Wed 13 Jun, Embassy Theatre, 8pm) and Hamilton Thu 14 Jun (Hoyts Te Awa, 8pm).

The Grand Final runs at the Civic in Auckland on Saturday 30 June.

Ticketing info is available on the V48Hours website.
