AIDC names new CEO

The Australian International Documentary Conference has announced filmmaker Britt Arthur as the new event’s new CEO and Conference Director.

As well as working as a director and producer, Arthur also has experience in event management. AIDC board members said in a statement that Arthur had offered “a fresh and exciting vision for the conference … that ensures it remains relevant in a rapidly changing media landscape”.

Arthur has factual TV credits including Grand Designs Australia and Who Do You Think You Are? as well as a number of festival-premiered short and feature docos.

The board also announced two other new appointments: Kerry Herman as Conference Producer, and Megan Mohell as Administration Manager.

After this year’s edition and the departure of longtime CEO Joost den Hartog AIDC announced it was quitting its longtime home, Adelaide. The 2016 edition of AIDC will run 28 February – 2 March in Melbourne.
