APFF lines up 2017 programme

Auckland will host the fifth edition of the New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival at Sky City from 28 October.

The festival, opening the same night Show Me Shorts has its awards gala just down the road at The Civic, will present the red-carpet premiere of NZ-China title Into the Rainbow (pictured, top, fka The Wonder).

The festival also presents two Chinese family features, Looking for Desire and Great Grassland, Woo Moon-Gi’s Korean teen drama The King of Jokgu, Katsuhide Motoki’s Japanese histroical drama Samurai Hustle Returns and Aditya Kripalani’s Indian sex-trade drama Tikli and Laxmi Bomb

“We are honored to be running the New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival again,” said Mr. Bo Li, Chairman of the Festival Organising Committee. “The New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival has established a unique reputation in the film industry locally and overseas.”

The festival is designed to promote Asian cultures in New Zealand, empower the development of the film industry in the Asia Pacific region and promote international cultural exchanges and co-operation.

 

 

The New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival runs 28 – 31 October.
