Armageddon announces short film fest

Armageddon adds itself to the list of opportunities for makers of short films, announcing the inaugural edition of the Armageddon Expo Sci-Fi/Fantasy Film Festival to run on the opening day of Armageddon’s Auckland outing, 23 October.

Entry criteria are pretty straightforward. A submission must be under 10 minutes, suitable for a general audience, and “contain a science fiction or fantasy element at its core”. US$500 is on the table for the winner, with other podium positions also taking away cash prizes.

Let’s see if anyone can top Richard Mans’ much-awarded 2012 sci-fi short.

Abiogenesis

Submissions (via Film Freeway) close on 10 September. Armageddon runs in Auckland 23 – 26 October (Labour Day weekend).
