This year’s Arohanui Film Festival (AFF) has announced its line-up, with a good crop of NZ shorts in the mix.
The local shorts screening, some in the opening night programme, some ahead of features, include Anniversary, DVD Dreams, High Waisted, Medulla Oblongata, The Reel People of New Zealand, Shout at the Ground, Smoke, and Te Makutu: The Curse.
Maximilian The Great, last weekend a winner at the Cinematographers Awards, screens with doco Set in Stone (pictured, top), itself a winner at Doc Edge earlier this year. Director Kevin Double will do a Q&A following the screening.
Will Watson’s Haka and Guitars and Dan Inglis and composer Dr. Jeremy Mayall’s experimental piece Glimpse complete the NZ line-up.
As well as screenings, the festival offers a Q&A session with the NZFC and a Kathryn Burnett workshop on feature writing.
