Attitude named ABU finalist

Attitude’s The Long Black Line (pictured, top) is nominated in the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union’s (ABU) Sports category in this year’s ABU Prizes. The Long Black Line lines up against shows by Malaysian powerhouse Astro Productions and two Japanese broadcasters, Fuji Television Networks and NHK.

The nomination is Attitude’s latest in a long line at Asia-Pacific events, with previous wins including ABU Prizes, the Apollo Awards and the Manthan Awards.

The ABU Prizes finalists for this year’s 13 categories were whittled down from 271 entries (181 for TV, 90 for Radio).

NZ’s second nomination came for RNZ in the Radio Drama category, with Chad Taylor’s Close to You. Taylor wrote Jonathan King’s micro-budget 2014 feature Realiti. At ABU Prizes the RNZ production is up against dramas from China Radio International. Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and Japan’s NHK.
