The awards drew 198 submissions across 19 categories, with 55 nominees named. This year the event has introduced a new category, Online Short Production. Attitude Pictures has two nominations at the event, from which the company has come away with trophies for the last couple of years.
This year Jai Waite is nominated in the Editing – Long Form (Unscripted) category for Baby Charlotte. Waite won the award in 2014 for Jimmy Wants a Job.
In the Directing – Long Form category, Emma Calveley is nominated for A Father’s Love (pictured, top). At last year’s Apollo Awards, Attitude’s Wendy Colville won the category for Living with Parkinson’s, for which Bill Toepfer took the editing gong also.
Launched in 2005, the Apollo Awards honour production and post-production work in the Asia Pacific region, with a strong focus on creative and technical skills.
The winners of the Apollo Awards will be announced on 1 June in Singapore at an awards event running alongside Broadcast Asia 2016.
