BCHFF gets Greasy

The Bruce Campbell Horror Film Festival (BCHFF) has laid out its 2016 programme, with the Ant Timpson-produced Greasy Strangler and Evil Dead director Fede Alvarez’s Don’t Breathe (pictured, top) both playing the August event.

Don’t Breathe, produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert, will open the weekend. The film, which premiered at SXSW in March, begins its US theatrical release a week after BCHFF.

The festival also presents a couple of world premieres: Steven DeGennaro’s satire Found Footage 3D and Show Yourself by Slamdance programmer Billy Ray Brewton.

The Greasy Strangler, currently here for the NZIFF, gets a midnight screening in Chicago.

The Bruce Campbell Horror Film Festival runs 18 – 21 August in Chicago.
