The Block NZ premieres At #1
New Zealanders voted with their remotes last night taking The Block NZ to #1 in its timeslot in the key 25-54 demographic.
The launch episode of The Block NZ was watched by an average audience of 201,900 25-54 year olds, significantly more than the 136,500 who watched My Kitchen Rules NZ on TV ONE.
The launch episode was also popular family viewing with 75,100 average audience in the Main Household Shoppers with Children demographic, compared with 48,100 for My Kitchen Rules NZ.

#TheBlockNZ trended number one in NZ on Twitter during the episode, and was still the #1 trend in New Zealand the following morning.
Within 3.5 hours, there had been more than 3,000 views of the episode on 3NOW, TV3’s video ondemand service.
