Borgman nears next feature

The latest feature from The Weight of Elephants director Daniel Joseph Borgman has been presented at New Nordic Film, the market programme of the Norway International Film Festival, Haugesund.

Produced by Katja Adomeit (who produced The Weight of Elephants with Leanne Saunders) Borgman’s Loving Pia was one of a number of titles Adomeit presented at the market.

Pia is a drama, although shot with the people playing themselves – not unlike the approach Alyx Duncan took for The Red House. Borgman’s film is the story of Pia, a 60-year-old intellectually disabled woman who lives with her 84-year-old mother. Pia has always been single, but has decided to look for a boyfriend to take care of her when her mother dies.

Adomeit also presented Shahrbanoo Sadat’sWolf & Sheep, which picked up an award from its premiere screening at Cannes’ Directors Fortnight this year, and work in progress teen drama Forever 13 by Annika Berg.
