Box Office: week to 13 September 2017

It scares off all-comers, taking the top spot and then some. The other 48 titles on offer this week combined to earn less than the adaptation of the Stephen King novel.

As the NZIFF vacates the bigger centres, the local titles slip into its wake. There’s a double dose of Toa Fraser, with 6 Days and The Free Man both opening, while Gaylene Preston’s festival-premiered My Year with Helen climbs from its opening position.
