Dunkirk stays at #1, although Annabelle: Creation creeps up on it. Two films with Weta magic open in this week’s top five. The effects were the best thing about the glorious, overlong mess that is Valerian, which opened very wide before the reviews could take too much of a toll. Wolf Warriors 2 is the latest in a long line of titles that have been the Chinese all-time box office champ in recent years.
McLaren is the sole local title still on the circuit as the NZIFF rolls on, although several local films premiered in the NZIFF are prepping for Spring releases.
