Up stayed up, easily fighting off Jack Black, a bunch of guinea pigs and other aspiring thespians to complete a third straight week at the top. Fame’s opening in fourth spot does very little to help out MGM’s multi-billion dollar debt problems.
Dropping out of the top ten, District 9, now in its 7th week, sits at 12. It does over $72,000 off 29 screens for almost $2.375 million in total. Christine Jeff’s Sunshine Cleaning is the only other Kiwi-related top 20 rater at 19, taking more than $22,500 off 28 for almost $570,000.
At 24, The Strength of Water does a little under $16,000 off 13 for just over $192,700. Down at 33, Separation City does almost $4,000 off 15 for a little over $551,142 all up.
