The second Big Screen Symposium has announced much of its programme, along with more international speakers.
Among our own, there’ll be sessions with speakers delving into various aspects of three theatrical releases and one TV event: White Lies, Top of the Lake, The Weight of Elephants and Mt Zion.
From across the ditch, two more Australians are added to the mix. Low-budget specialist, writer and director Rolf de Heer (Ten Canoes, Bad Boy Bubby) returns, the Cannes and Venice winner having previously presented at other Script to Screen events.
Composer Cezary Skubiszewski scored two of Australia’s best-performing features from last year (The Sapphires, Red Dog) as well as Beneath Hill Sixty and musical Bran Nue Day. He’s also scored a dozen gongs from 30 nominations at various Australian industry events.
The Big Screen Symposium runs 10 – 11 August in Auckland.
