BSS names first masterclasses

Australian directors Cate Shortland and Tony Krawitz will present, as will The Phoenix Foundation’s Luke Buda and Samuel Flynn Scott.

Shortland’s films include Lore (pictured, top), which took 30 gongs at festivals and awards events. Krawitz’s work includes features Dead Europe and Jewboy and TV shows The Devil’s Playground and The Kettering Incident, on the latter of which Shortland was a writer.

The Phoenix Foundation’s Luke Buda and Samuel Flynn-Scott will deliver a composing masterclass, sharing their work scoring for films including Taika Waititi’s Eagle Vs Shark, Boy and Hunt For The Wilderpeople.

The Big Screen Symposium runs 24 – 25 September. Earlybird ticket sales close midnight, Fri 19th August.
