Tribeca’s Opeyemi Olukemi, Australian Courtney Botfield and much-travelled documentary filmmaker Pietra Brettkelly are confirmed to present at this year’s Big Screen Symposium.
Opeyemi Olukemi is Senior Director of Interactive for Tribeca Film Institute, where she oversees the TFI New Media Fund and leads the Institute’s digital and interactive programs. Olukemi’s TFI colleague Ingrid Kopp was a mentor here at the 2014 DocLab.
Botfield will present on ways to get films made and seen, based on her 20 years of experience in independent film marketing and distribution. She’s managed Australian campaigns for several features including Taika Waititi’s Boy, and iconic Australian titles such as Samson & Delilah, Balibo andMy Year Without Sex.
Botfield is a partner in The Goodship Agency with longtime Australian screen industry publicist Tracey Mair.
Having recently had its NZ premiere screening in the NZIFF, Pietra Brettkelly’s A Flickering Truth starts its release today in selected centres. In 2014 A Flickering Truth was supported by Tribeca’s Documentary Fund.
This year’s Big Screen Symposium runs 24 – 25 September. Tickets are now on sale.
