Crackheads wins at NuHo

Jeremy Birchall has take the jury gong for Best Actor at the New Hollywood Online Film Festival (NuHo) for his performance in Tim Tsiklauri’s feature Crackheads. Birchall also works as a loop artist, and has built his front of camera career almost entirely on the many series of Power Rangers shot here. As a soundie, he’s worked on features In My Father’s Den and both Sione’s titles; in TV he’s worked on Legend of the Seeker, Spartacus: Gods of the Arena and most recently Harry.

Tim Tsiklauri’s Crackheads: Why are you all looking at me?

As an actor Birchall played Diablo in Tim Tsiklauri’s short Russian Dolls before taking on a priest in the same director’s Crackheads.

Crackheads was one of 22 films competing for the gong’s at NuHo’s inaugural edition, which closed at the end of February. NuHo carried the titles on a secure server, from where “festival-goers” were able to stream them for a fee – US$2 for a single title or US$15 for a festival pass.
