Everything We Loved writer and director Max Currie rounds out the presenter lineup for next month’s Tropfest Roughcut.
Currie will explain his strategy of creating concept teasers to finance and shape the development of a feature film. He employed the approach on Escalator title Everything We Loved and is now using it again for his next feature project, NZ-German co-production Life in Subtitles.
Everything We Loved had its world premiere at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, where The Hollywood Reporter called it a “…confident debut feature … high end drama that convinces on an emotional level.”
It went on to festival success in Europe before arriving in NZ to screen as part of this year’s NZIFF and, simultaneously, enjoy an online release through the NZFC’s FOD platform and vimeo.
Currie joins previously-announced Roughcut presenters Sheri Candler and Tony Briggs.
Tropfest Roughcut runs 4 September at Auckland’s Q Theatre.
