While UK doco Dark Horse was winning at Sundance, James Napier Robertson’s The Dark Horse took two awards from its outing at Rotterdam’s IFFR.
The Dark Horse was named “the best rated film of IFFR 2015” and therefore winner of the IFFR Audience Award and its €10,000 cash prize. The film also won the MovieZone Award from the festival’s youth jury.
IFFR also presented four NZ shorts: Phil Dadson’s Arid Edge, Sorawit Songsataya’s Bruce’s Version, Gavin Hipkins’ The Port and Tahi Moore’s Unconscious.
IFFR 2015 ran 21 January – 1 February.
