DLC does FX deal

The downlowconcept has signed a script development deal for a comedy TV show with US cable network FX.

Details of the show being developed are being kept under wraps but the news is good. The downlowconcept’s Ryan Hutchings said, “We feel this finally justifies the last 15 years where we’ve told people we’re writers but haven’t actually been working on anything.”

FX is home to a number of well-received dramas, including Joe Weisberg’s The Americans and Noah Hawley’s Fargo. The network also recently announced deals for comedies with Sonny Lee (Silicon Valley) and Seth Rogen.

Closer to home, the downlowconcept team is in post with feature Gary of the Pacific (fka Chief Gary, pictured, top) which shot late last year. The film is currently slated for release in March 2017. The downlowconcept’s co-production web show The Nations, made with support from the NZ-Canada interactive media fund, is available to watch at TVNZ Ondemand.
