Doc Edge 2013 finds new home

The Auckland leg of the Doc Edge Festival will become the first film festival to tread the boards at Auckland’s Q Theatre.

The eighth edition of the festival will run in April, using both of Q’s spaces, The Loft and Rangatira to present its programme of 50+ docos. The festival has run for the last two years at Event Cinemas Newmarket, which is due for renovation at some point during 2013.

Doc Edge has run screening tests at Q and is excited about the new space, into which it will install its own screens and projection system for the festival.

In Wellington, Reading Cinemas Courtenay and the Film Archive will host the festival, although slightly later after the Auckland screenings than usual.

The festival will begin programme announcements next month.

The Screen Edge Forum will continue to run at AUT, but will move to the campus’ new WG Learning Complex that is due to be handed over early next month.
