Doc Edge 2013 has fixed and fluid dates

The Doc Edge Festival’s regular submission deadline is set in stone, while the DOCLab joins other industry events crossing themselves off November’s calendar.

The Festival’s regular submission deadline is Friday (18 October), closely followed by the final submission date (1 November) and the WithoutABox extended deadline (15 November), after which that’s it.

DOCLab, which was possibly going to line up adjacent to this year’s SPADA Conference, has been postponed. No new date has been announced as yet, although organisers hope to be able to get it back on the calendar early next year, possibly mirroring the move Animfx has made from November to February.

In the meantime, the 2013 Festival’s regional tour continues, hitting sunny Waiheke tomorrow to screen five titles over ten days at the island’s extremely comfy cinema venue.

Doc Edge is also presenting two Auckland screenings this week as part of Art Week. Luigi Cutore & Mark McNeill’s 2012 festival winner I Am the River and Gayle Preston’s 2007 Lovely Rita (the painter, not the meter maid) both screen.

Submission info for Doc Edge 2014 is here (refresh the page if it shows a script error).
