Doc Edge 2013 off and running

Doc Edge kicked off its eighth festival on Wednesday with a sold-out screening of its opening film, John Shenk’s The Island President and has announced its full Forum programme and award contenders.

Although the festival programme no longer features a NZ section, local films now being dispersed through the festival strands, the NZ-specific awards continue at the Gala night on Wednesday 17 April. Nine NZ titles will compete for the Best Feature and Short awards.

A late addition to the Forum programme is Philippe Bellaiche, producer and cinematographer of the festival’s Gypsy Davy. Bellaiche will also attend Auckland screenings of his film.

The Doc Edge International Film Festival 2013 runs:
Auckland: 10 – 21 April, Q Theatre, Queen Street
Wellington: 8 – 19 May, Reading Cinemas Courtney and The Film Archive
The Screen Edge Forum 2013 runs:
18 – 19 April at Auckland University of Technology.
