The NZ premiere of The Yes Men Are Revolting will play Doc Edge’s 10th edition, which opens next month.
The Yes Men Are Revolting is the third film from comedic-political activists The Yes Men. It premiered at Toronto last September. Following The Yes Men and The Yes Men Fix the World, the Yes Men now confront climate change.
Announced earlier, the festival will open with Ben Patterson’s previously announced Sweet Micky For President. Patterson, NZ born producer Karyn Rachtman and former Fugee and subject Pras Michel will attend, as will Lyric R. Cabral and David Felix Sutcliffe, directors of closing film (T)ERROR, which observes an FBI counter-terrorism sting operation.
Christopher Dudman’s Christchurch doco The Day That Changed My Life, seen recently on TVNZ, gets a theatrical outing.
The full festival line-up will be announced Tuesday 14 April. The Doc Edge Festival will run 20 May – 1 June at Q Theatre, Auckland; and 3 – 14 June at The Roxy, Miramar. The Screen Edge Forum runs 29 May in Auckland and 4 June in Wellington. DocPitch runs 30 May in Auckland.
