Seriously Entertainment’s apocalyptic web series End of Term, shot in Wellington last year, has been selected to screen at the 2016 Los Angeles Web Series Festival following its release last year.
It is the second web series created by award-winning filmmaker Chaz Harris to screen at LA WebFest after 101 Dates won seven Outstanding Achievement Awards in 2011, including Outstanding Comedy Series.End of Term has been nominated for four awards in the Drama Series categories: Directing (Chaz Harris), Score (Tane Upjohn-Beatson), Sound Design (Tane Upjohn-Beatson) and Performance by a Lead Actress (Brogan Wilkinson as Harper).
The cast of End of Term includes Thomasin McKenzie (Consent: The Louise Nicholas Story, Shortland Street), Jayden Daniels (Shortland Street) and a host of talented young newcomers. Shot in Wellington last year, Harris co-wrote End of Term with Bea Joblin. The series was independently funded with support from Avalon Studios, Scots College. It held its world premiere taking place at the inaugural NZ WebFest in November 2015.
Series Creator Harris said, “I’m thrilled End of Term has been selected for LA WebFest and I’m excited at the prospect of returning to the festival. It’s wonderful to have our cast and crew’s hard work acknowledged. It’s encouraging news for the related miniseries and feature film we’re developing.”
