FIFO names 2010 competition line-up

The Tahiti-based documentary festival opens the doors on its 8th edition in late January. Today it announced the film programme, revealing the 15 films screening in competition plus over 20 out of competition.

Kiwi films have had a good run at FIFO recently, with Annie Goldson’s Island Calling and Briar March’s There Once Was an Island winning the Grand Prix in 2009 and 2010. We haven’t got a film with ‘island’ in the title this year, but we have got an Oscar-shortlisted doco, This Way of Life, in competition.

Other Kiwi docos screening in competition include Juliette Veber’s Trouble Is My Business and Jane Reeves’ Canvassing the Treaty.
