Tahiti’s doco festival FIFO has named its 2017 jury, including Māori Television Director of Programming Haunui Royal flies the flag for Aotearoa. Royal will join jurors from France, French Polynesia, Hawaii and New Caledonia to assess the 14-title competition line-up.
The competitors (not yet named) were selected from 142 submissions, a record 28 of them from New Zealand. 40 documentary films will play the festival: 14 in competition, 16 out of competition, plus 10 for the Oceanic short film programme.
FIFO 2017 will run in Tahiti 4 – 12 February
