Film Auckland Incorporated is proud to announce it has elected its New Board after the nominations were presented and accepted at its Annual General Meeting this past Monday 25th September.
The new Board is now formed of fourteen members; ten of whom are current Board members and were nominated again for their positions and four of them are new. Grant Baker, from Images and Sound, was elected Deputy Chair filling up the position which Felicity Letcher occupied before she resigned. The new members are Tony Johnson (Sound Mixer), Michael Urban (The Rebel Fleet), James Brookes (Department of Post) and Gabriel Reid (DEGNZ). Tui Ruwhiu and Bruce Hopkins have also retired from the Board. Film Auckland would like to thank the outgoing members as their input and contribution has been very valuable.
This new Board contributes to the individual character of this body and the essence of being the voice of the Auckland Screen Production Industry. The representation of different sectors of the Screen Industry is reflected in having a board with members whose individual work cover different areas of the industry.
Film Auckland Inc. was set up in 2004. It is Auckland’s screen leader supporting and advocating for the screen industry. FAI works hard to support and facilitate a sustainable world class innovative screen industry that is sustainable and internationally competitive. The new Board will work together to expand its membership through social media channels, and by hosting events, that will allow networking and engagement between screen businesses and supporting businesses that contribute to the screen industry ecology.
The new Board is enthusiastic to carry on the work of the previous Board and build on its successes on highlighting and advocating the importance of the screen incentives, the need for additional studio infrastructure and discussing issues of importance with the different political parties in the run-up to the 2017 elections.
