The Wellington-based Film For Change Aotearoa is one of six social entrepreneurs shortlisted for the Rotary Club of Wellington Social Enterprise Kick-start, run in conjunction with the Ākina Foundation. The award puts up $10,000 in cash to promising start-ups.
Film for Change Aotearoa helps mission-driven organisations tell their stories more effectively with a film-making service tailored for charities.
The organisation is competing with five other organisations, all with social goals, promoting projects from affordable eye care to redevelopment of a former bowling club. Yesterday Film For Change was announced a runner up at a Wellington Airport-sponsored community awards event.
The winners of the Social Enterprise awards will be announced on 31 August.
