Hawaiian filmmaker Erin Lau becomes the latest confirmed entrant for the inaugural Film Raro
Pacific Paradise Film Challenge.
Lau’s film, A Little Girl’s War Cry will deal with the touchy subject of domestic violence through the eyes of a young ten-year old Cook Island girl.
A University of Hawaii film student, Lau brings the youngest team so far to the Film Raro table. Most are also University of Hawaii students.
Previously announced participants include Emmy and Peabody winner Karin William. Her team will make a documentary about one of Rarotonga’s most popular love songs, Mou Piri, now synonymous with Rarotongan weddings.
Australians Marcus Hamill and Joel Russell will make a royal-themed comedy short, Dog Save The Queen. David Gould, whose debut feature The Cure found attention at AFM recently, was the first film challenge participant announced.
