Free in Deed collects Spirit nods

Jake Mahaffy’s Free in Deed has four nominations for the Spirit Awards, which are presented just ahead of the Academy Awards, closing out the US Awards season.

Mahaffy’s feature, which last year won the Best Film gong in the Venice Festival’s Orrizonti section, is nominated at the Spirit Awards for Best Leading Male (David Harewood, pictured, top), Best Supporting Female (Edwina Findley) and Cinematography (Ava Berkofsky).
