Naomi Wallwork’s impending departure from the NZFC sets off a round of musical chairs.Screen Incentives Manager Wallwork (previously Head of Business Affairs) has announced she’ll leave in May with plans to take a break and travel. Despite the personnel changes announced in response to her decision to depart, she remains the first point of contact for incentive-related enquiries until then.
NZFC CEO Dave Gibson wrote to key industry members earlier this week advising them of the coming changes, and praising her work, particularly around the implementation of revised incentive schemes last year.
Announcing Wallwork’s departure “with regret”, Gibson wrote, “Her knowledge and skills have been invaluable, particularly as the number of enquiries has steadily grown since the incentives increase on 1 April 2014, and I know many of you will miss her advice and guidance.”
The recently-arrived International Relations Manager – Incentives, Catherine Bates, will become Head of Incentives. Described as “an ideal candidate to replace Naomi”, she’ll commence her new role a week before Wallwork departs.
Head of International Relations Chris Payne will work alongside Bates, with longtime line producer Chris Tyson (Fresh Meat, Paradise Cafe, Aftershock) to start on contract next week as Incentives Executive.
Having split his time until now between the Incentives and Business Affairs teams, Conal Thompson becomes the full-time Business Affairs Assistant.
Later today, the NZFC will announce the appointees to the Talent Pathways Manager and Head of Talent Development positions.
