The Greasy Strangler has picked a couple of gongs at the newest US awards bash on the calendar, the American Independent Film Awards (AIFAs). The event celebrates films with a sub-US$1 million budget.
The Ant Timpson-produced The Greasy Strangler took out the Costume Design and Hair & Make-Up gongs. The film also had a nomination for the Production Design gong, missing out to The Eyes of My Mother.
Also among the nominees was Jake Mahaffy’s Free in Deed (which was also a nominee at last weekend’s NZ Film Awards). At the AIFAs Edwina Findley was nominated for supporting performance.
Trey Edward Shults‘ Krisha was the most-awarded title, taking the gongs for Best Film, Director, Original Screenplay, Lead Performance, and Score.
The American Independent Film Awards winners were announced Monday (NZ time).
