Greenstone sells the Norwegians blues

Greenstone Pictures has licensed two of its police shows, Serious Crash Unit (SCU) and Crash Investigation Unit to Swedish doc channel TV4 Fakta, which broadcasts into Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Greenstone has long taken to heart the advice being dished out at last week’s SPADA conference that the future is offshore. The Scandinavian deal was done by its worldwide distributor, Sydney-based Beyond International, whose Yvonne Body presented a session on international distribution at Get Ahead.

The deal covers two seasons of CIU (2 x 10 x 30 min) and four seasons of SCU (4 x 7 x 30 min).

SCU is produced here for TVNZ; CIU, shot in Sydney, is produced for Australia’s Seven network. Greenstone is currently shooting the second series of Highway Patrol (HP) in Melbourne, also for Seven. The first season of HP has recently sold into Israel.

Motorway Patrol and The Zoo are Greenstone’s longest-running format shows. Both have racked up 10 seasons and sold well overseas.
