Ground We Won makes more ground

NZ titles have scored two of fifteen starting spots in the documentary competition line-up for this year’s Warsaw Film Festival.

Chris Pryor’s The Ground We Won will head for Poland in October, alongside Pietra Brettkelly’s A Flickering Truth.

Wojciech Staroń’s Brothers (Bracia) is the sole Polish selection in a line-up which also includes Maya Newell’s Australian Gayby Baby, seen here in this year’s Doc Edge Festival.

A Flickering Truth premiered in Venice and recently played the Toronto IFF. The Ground We Won premiered at the NZIFF’s Autumn Events and has since played Locarno, Melbourne and Montreal as well as being named for other North American and Australian festivals.

Madman Entertainment will distribute The Ground We Won for home entertainment across Australasia. The release date is set at 18 November for NZ, with pre-orders now open. The release will offer DVD and online options including iTunes and Google Play.

The Warsaw Film Festival runs 9 – 18 October.
