Gyula Gazdag returns to Story Camp 2017

We are honoured to announce that filmmaker and artistic director of the Sundance Directors’ Lab, Gyula Gazdag will return to workshop feature film scripts with talented local writers and filmmakers at Story Camp 2017.

Also returning as advisors this year are esteemed industry practitioners Brita McVeigh, Ainsley Gardiner and Loren Taylor. Keep an eye out for more exciting advisor announcements in the lead up to Story Camp 2017…

Past international advisors have included: legendary US screenwriter Joan Tewkesbury (THIEVES LIKE US, NASHVILLE); Hollywood writer & longstanding Sundance mentor Michael Goldenberg (HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX); Academy Award and BAFTA winning screenwriter David Seidler (THE KING’S SPEECH) and revolutionary Mexican screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga (AMORES PEROS, 21 GRAMS, BABEL).

Each selected writer or writing team will partake in a rigorous five-day residential experience tailored specifically to meet the development needs of their feature film project. As in previous years, highly experienced practitioners remain at the heart of the programme and will work with NZ’s most exciting writers and filmmakers to help strengthen voice and vision in their projects.

The experience for each participant may include the following development techniques: one-on-one script sessions, project-based group workshops, read-throughs and workshopping with actors. The writers’ key collaborators may also be invited to join in during segments of the process if that will be of additional benefit to the process and project.

Applications Close: 5pm, Monday 28 August 2017
