Hahana launches today

Hahana is a fast paced & fresh show that brings a more localised focus, creating interesting and teen appealing content from within our rohe of the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Wanganui area.

Hosted by rangatahi, Manu Korero Champ and Hato Paora head boy Sonny Ngatai who is fluent in te reo Māori. Language learner Ashley Dykstra from Taitoko has the role of Roving Reporter.

The webisodes incorporate a low te reo Māori component but are 100% of Māori kaupapa and will be reaching more young Māori by launching online where we know they watch video.

Each webisode will have a celebrity element, a funny element and an educational but entertaining element.

Hahana aims to affirm who these young people are, what they believe is important, so that they can see their reflection in a nationwide media, as a foundation step to achieving their dreams and aspirations.

Our first episode is tonight at 7pm, but already some of our promo videos have reached substantial audiences.

Our ‘learning how to pronounce Māori’ promo with The Dead Lands star Lawrence Makoare and host Ashley has over 9,000 views with a reach of 22,800.

Our dance promo with Kaea Pearce from the Royal Family has a reach of 22,000 and 8550 views.

The episodes will be available at 7pm every Monday on Facebook and our YouTube Channel, Hahana – The Web Series
