NHNZ owner David Haslingden will follow up his In Conversation session at next week’s Casbaa in Hong Kong by taking part in a panel discussion on the growth of factual entertainment in Asia at Singapore’s Asia TV Forum (ATF).
Haslingden will be joined on the Singapore panel by BBC Worlwide’s Myleeta Aga, Discovery’s Vikram Channa (who spoke here at the 2012 Screen Edge Forum), and ITV Studios’s Maria Kyriacou.
The announcement comes in the first round of programme announcements for this year’s ATF. Also announced are keynote speaker Alon Shtruzman, CEO of Israel’s Keshet International, which sprung to international fame on the back of format sale of its drama Prisoners of War, remade as Homeland in the US. Keshet has a much stronger track record in factual and reality format sales, especially in Asia, including Rising Star.
Elsewhere on the programme, there’s a Kids Animation masterclass and a number of sessions devoted, in different ways, to the opportunities for growth in the region – of pay-TV, OTT services, and interest in Asian fare from beyond the region.
ATF will run in Singapore 9 – 12 December. The event forms part of the Singapore Media Festival (4 – 14 December) which also includes the Asian TV Awards, SuperPitch, ScreenSingapore and the Singapore International Film Festival.
