Hip Hop-eration off to Greece

Bryan Evans’ Hip Hop-eration will open the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival on 13 March.

The 17th edition of the festival, Images of the 21st Century, will screen 185 titles with Evans’ the sole NZ contribution to the programme. Among the 185 is Nick Broomfield’s Tales of the Grim Sleeper, which was earlier this week announced for the Doc Edge Festival here.

Kim Longinotto’s Dreamcatcher, for which Kim Longinotto’s took a directing gong at Sundance, also plays alongside Oscar nominees Virunga by Orlando von Einsiedel and The Salt of the Earth by Wim Wenders and Juliano Ribeiro Salgado.

The festival runs a one-day conference and daily in discussion sessions with attending directors and producers.

Thessaloniki runs 13 – 22 March.
