House Of Cards Season 2 on TV and 3NOW

MediaWorks, Auckland, 21 May 2014: MediaWorks is releasing season two of House of Cards as a 3NOW box set. The acclaimed Netflix show begins its second season on TV3 this Sunday (10.30pm on May 25), and all 13 episodes will be available to watch on 3NOW for 28 days.

When House of Cards premiered on TV3 in February, MediaWorks treated viewers to a box set release of the first series as part of the launch of video-on-demand service 3NOW. House of Cards quickly became the network’s #1 VOD programme. To date, more than 230,000 episodes of the series have been watched via 3NOW.

MediaWorks Director of Interactive, Siobhan McKenna says: “Having the entire first series of House of Cards on 3NOW as a box set was a first for a free-to-air network in this market and was extremely successful.

“We had excellent feedback from users, clients and our sponsors, both for the series one box set, and the 3NOW App in general, and are delighted to be making the new season available in the same way.”

MediaWorks TV Director of Programming, Mark Caulton says: “We’re always looking for ways to enrich the viewing experience, and to make our content available on as many platforms as possible.

“We know VOD services and other second screen activities are of benefit to TV viewership, and House of Cards represents a unique opportunity to give our audience something special.”

3NOW is MediaWorks’ video on demand service, making TV3 and FOUR television shows available on web, mobile and tablet (iOS and Android), and on Samsung televisions.

House of Cards Series 2 begins on TV3 at 10.30pm, Sunday 25 May.
The House of Cards Series 2 box set will be available on 3NOW for 28 days from 11.30pm, Sunday 25 May.
The 3NOW App is available on the App Store and Google Play.
