Housebound looking for chainsaws

Gerard Johnstone’s Housebound is a finalist in three categories of Fangoria’s 2015 Chainsaw Awards.

Housebound

Housebound

The film is nominated for Best Limited Theatrical/Straight to DVD Release, Best Supporting Actress (Rimi te Wiata) and Best Screenplay (Johnstone). Jennifer Kent’s Australian horror The Babadook collected four nominations, going head to head with Housebound in the Release and Screenplay categories.

Last year, Evil Dead and Neil Cross-scripted Mama both picked up nominations, with Roger Murray and Jane O’Kane taking the Best Makeup/Creature FX gong for their work on Fede Alvarez’s remake of Evil Dead.

The awards are a vox pop affair, so it’s (reasonably) easy to support Housebound. Vote in all categories, and email your votes from a personal email account to [email protected] Voting closes on 10 March.

There’s a list of existing Hall of Fame members here to avoid a wasted vote.

This year’s winners will be announced at Fangoria.com in April.
