In the same week Housebound announced a deal for US distribution, France-based Films Distribution has taken the rights for the rest of the world.
Films Distribution’s Nicolas Brigaud-Robert called Housebound “very fresh, both funny and witty but also unpredictable and full of suspense. It truly delivers and will no doubt be an audience pleaser around the world.”
Last week, Housebound added another great review to its clippings file, and came away from Scotland’s Dead By Dawn Festival with the Audience Award.
Films Distribution will present Housebound next week in Cannes, where the distributor has three titles screening in two of the festival’s programmes: Céline Sciamma’s Girlhood and Ronit & Shlomi Elkabetz’s Gett, the Trial of Viviane Amsalem in Directors Fortnight, and Pascale Ferran’s Bird People in Un Certain Regard.
Housebound executive producer Ant Timpson is having a busy time, with two Housebound deals announcing, shooting getting under way on Make My Horror Movie winner Deathgasm and the announcements for the Grand Finals of this year’s 48Hours Furious Filmmaking competition all happening this week.
