James Cameron walks on digital water

James Cameron lines up a couple of awards ahead of Avatar’s release and talks about moving a few inconveniently-located mountains.

The Titanic and Terminator creator will pick up the Santa Barbara Film Festival’s modern master award in early February. The festival takes place February 4 – 14.

By the end of that month he’ll also have the Visual Effects Society’s lifetime achievement award in the bag, to be presented on February 28 at a ceremony in Los Angeles, and will be waiting to see if Avatar’s expected Oscar nominations turn into real world statues again.

Meanwhile, for those who just want to worship at JC’s feet in anticipation of his return, the L A Times invites you to release your inner fanboy/girl.
