Lippy Pictures’ Jean Batten biopic Jean has scooped the pool at the New Zealand Television Craft Awards tonight.
The NZ on Air-funded telefeature won all the awards not reserved for documentary programmes at the event – eight in all.
Earlier in the year, Jean enjoyed plenty of success overseas at the New York Film & TV World’s Best Awards in Las Vegas, where it took nine awards.
13 shows were nominated for Craft Awards, but only Jean and Born This Way: Awa’s Story came away winners. Awa’s Story took the two factual-specific awards, for Best Camerawork and Editing.
The nominees for the remaining categories of the NZ TV Awards, which will be presented on 30 November, were also announced at the ceremony on Wednesday.
