Kids Emmys nominates two Aussies

The International Emmy Kids Awards will make a number of changes to next year’s awards ceremony, including a move of both date and continent.

Matchbox Pictures’ Nowhere Boys (pictured) is again named among the Series nominees, having missed out last year. Galaxy Pop’s Get Ace is a finalist for the Animation award.

No NZ nominees are in the mix for 2016, after Luke Nola’s Let’s Get Inventin’ app was a finalist for this year’s awards in the Non-Scripted category.

Leading the pack for the 2016 awards are British and Japanese production companies. Each country has four nominations. Overall, the 24 nominees hail from 13 countries, down from 17 last year.

As well as announcing the nominees, organisers also announced a major shift for the event itself. Run for its first three editions in February in New York, the event will next year move to run as part of MipTV in Cannes in April. MipTV is one of the sponsors of the awards, and already hosts another International Emmy event as part of MipTV, the International Digital Emmy Awards.
