KiwiGameStarter back for round two

New Zealand’s only startup programme for interactive games businesses and indie games, the KiwiGameStarter, is back. Submissions close late August.

Last year Joe Chang’s Eyemobi took the award with procedurally-generated horror game Phantasmal. After an early review by Pewdiepie and a successful Kickstarter campaign, the game has developed considerably and is now available via Steam Early Access, where it has a 9/10 user rating.

This year, the winning game will receive $10,000 in folding, plus goods and services from Autodesk, Unity, Pursuit Public Relations, Hudson Gavin Martin, and mentoring from other game developers. A second prize has been added this year, offering up $5000, a Unity 3D Pro license and mentoring.

The submission deadline is 28 August, with the winner announced during this year’s NZGDC on 10 September.
