Loading Docs has named the 10 short docos on the theme of diversity selected for this year’s edition, and which begin crowdfunding today.
Each documentary is required to crowdfund $2000 towards their production budget in order to receive an additional $4000 from the Loading Docs initiative and a post-production package provided by Toybox and Post Production Sound.
This year’s selections include Tim Worrall’s He Kotuku Rerenga Rua, produced by Aaron Smart. Worrall and Smart previously made 2014 Loading Docs title Kainga.
Coffin Club comes from Briar March and producer Kim Harrop. March’s There Once Was An Island had a good festival run in 2010, collecting over a dozen awards. Julie Zhu’s East Meets East is produced by DEGNZ’s Marketing & Events Coordinator Tema Pua. Welcome to Graft is directed by Ursula Williams, whose short The King took the Audience Award in last year’s NZ’s Best competition.
